Boxy Printed Felt Bag Pattern and instructions

From your pattern piece, cut out the 4”x 2.5” red dashed boxes and then trace it onto the backside of your printed felt with a washable fabric pen. Cut out your pattern. 

You will need a 9 or 10” zipper. If you have a 10” zipper, you will be sewing right over the zipper so this will only work if the zipper is not metal. Sew one side of your zipper face down on a printed 10” side marked zipper. Then flip the printed felt back and top stitch your felt down to the zipper so that it lays flat. 

Repeat with the other side.

Fold your felt (white side up) so that the zipper lies centered in the middle. Pin the two open sides together and sew them both shut across using a 1/2” seam allowance. 

Now you will sew each corner shut. To do this, open the corner by pulling the inner corner points away from each other to create a flat side. This will flatten the corner. Lay the center seam face up and pin or clip the side together. Sew straight across the corner following the edge with a 1/2” seam allowance. This will create the boxy corners that allow the bag to stand up on its own. Repeat this with the other three corners. 

Now turn your bag right side out and pop your corners out so they are nice and crisp.

Your bag is now ready to use!
