DIY Felt Candy Ornaments
Today, we're excited to share a tutorial on how to make felt candy ornaments, inspired by lollipops, peppermints, wrapped candies, and sour strips! These adorable decorations are perfect for adding a handmade touch to your Christmas tree, gifting to loved ones, or leaving without the ornament hook and just having for fun. So, let's gather our supplies and get started!
Materials You'll Need:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
To start off we cut lots of 1 inch strips of the colors we wanted our candies to be!
1. Peppermint
To make the peppermint candy we started with 1 red strip and 1 white strip and stacked them together.
And then we rolled it into a circle like this and secured it with hot glue.
We used a pin to keep it in place while it dried!
And then you can add your ornament hook if you'd like to hang your peppermint!
2. Lollipop
Next up we made our lollipop ornament!
To start we grabbed a light blue strip and a white strip and stacked them together.
Then we rolled the strips together to make the top of the lollipop.
While that's drying, we cut one of our white strips to 3".
Then we rolled it long ways and secured it with hot glue to make the "stick" shape.
After those are both dry, you can secure them together to make the sucker shape.
Then you can add your ornament hook if you'd like to add it to your tree!
3. Sour Strip
This doesn't have to be a sour strip, it can be whatever you want it to be, but here's how we made it!
First, we got 1 of our pink strips and 1 of our white ones and stacked them together.
Then, we wrapped it around 3 of our fingers until we ran out of the strip.
We used a pin to keep it in place!
Then, we grabbed our thread and needle and pushed it through the whole thing.
Then we knotted the thread and added a small dot of hot glue to each layer to keep it in place!
Once that's dry, you can add your ornament hook and you're all done!
4. Wrapped Candy
Lastly, we made a wrapped candy!
We started by making the same shape as the peppermint and lollipop. We took 1 strip of white and 1 strip of teal and stacked them together.
Then, we rolled it and secured with hot glue.
After that we cut 2, 1.5" pieces of felt strips.
Then, cut little triangle ends.
Now you can scrunch the straight side like this.
And attach them to the sides of the candy swirl!
Once that dries, you can add your ornament hook and you're all done!
