DIY Pumpkin Pillow
Get ready for those cozy feels with this adorable Fall DIY! It is the perfect addition to any room for an added touch of decor. Plus, it couldn't be easier to make!
Follow along with our step-by-step instructions below!
Start by gathering your supplies!
You will need:
- 1 piece of orange felt
- 1 piece of buffalo check printed glitter felt
- A plain white decorative pillow
- A Die cutting machine (like a Cricut) or Fabric Scissors and freezer paper
- A hot glue gun and glue sticks
- 3/8" wide black and orange ribbon
First, start by downloading your favorite pumpkin silhouette image and loading this into your Cricut. Measure how large you would like each of your pumpkins to be on your pillow and then size the images to match. Cut two pumpkins both facing the same way out of your orange felt followed by one pumpkin facing the opposite direction out of your buffalo check glitter felt. You can also do this step by tracing the pumpkins onto freezer paper, lightly ironing the waxy side down onto the felt, and then cutting the shapes out with your fabric scissors.
Next, grab your hot glue gun and line up your pumpkins onto your pillow how you would like them to look. Glue all three into place.
Now you will be assembling your bows! Cut three ribbon strips, each 5.5" long and three strips each 1" long. You will want two sets of orange and one set of black. Start off folding one of your long pieces into an awareness ribbon shape. You can dab a bit of glue here to hold it in place.
Then bring the center of the the loop down behind where the ribbon meets and crosses over. Here you can dab another drop of glue to hold the ribbon.
Finally, take your 1" piece and wrap it tightly around the center, gluing it to the back. Snip the ends of your bow at an angle and quickly run a lighter over them to heat seal and keep the edges from fraying.
Now repeat this to make two more bows and then glue your bows onto each pumpkin.
And your pumpkin pillow is complete! Add it to an entryway bench or your sofa for cozy fall vibes!
