Easter Bunny Headband Tutorial

Looking for an easy seasonal DIY that’s perfect for Easter baskets, spring photos, classroom parties, or egg hunts? This Bunny Headband is beginner-friendly, customizable, and absolutely adorable.

Grab your favorite felt colors or prints and let’s get started.

✂️ You Will Need:

Felt sheets (two colors/types, one type for the outer ear and one for the inner) 

Plain plastic or fabric headband

Hot glue gun + glue sticks

Scissors

Pencil or fabric marker

🐰 Step 1: Create Your Bunny Ear Template

On a piece of paper, draw one tall oval shape for the outer ear (anywhere from 1-7 inches tall depending on how dramatic you want them).

Inside that shape, draw a smaller oval for the inner ear.

Cut both shapes out — these will be your tracing templates.

Tip: Slightly taper the bottom of the ear so it wraps nicely around the headband.

🌸 Step 2: Cut Your Felt Pieces

Trace and cut 2 outer ear pieces 

Trace and cut 2 inner ear pieces 

Cut a small and thin rectangular shape out of the same felt used for the outer ears.  This will be wrapped around top-center part of the headband.

💗 Step 3: Glue Glue Glue!

Glue the smaller pink felt piece onto the center of one outer ear piece. Repeat for the second ear.

Then, glue the long, rectangular piece to the top-center of your headband.  We glued it to the inside to make sure that the seam was not visible. 

Next, glue your ears to the inside of the headband if you tapered your ears at the bottom, and to the back if you did not. 

🌷 Step 4: Add Finishing Touches

For inspiration, you could: 

Add a small felt bow between the ears

Glue on mini florals for a spring crown look

Use patterned or glitter felt for a playful twist
