Felt Pencil Bag Tutorial + FREE SVG!

As the new school year approaches, it's time to prepare our little learners for their new academic adventures. And what better way to kickstart the year than with a touch of creativity and sparkle? In this tutorial, we'll show you how to make a dazzling glitter felt pencil bag that will undoubtedly make your child stand out in the classroom! You can easily personalize it, making it the perfect accessory for your child to carry their school supplies in style! Let's get started!
You will need:
First off, you will need to download your SVG and cut two copies of all shapes using your Cricut or Silhouette.
Next, start by assembling each side of the bag. You will use your hot glue gun to adhere the pink glitter pieces to the very back on top of the yellow felt and the silver glitter rectangle right next to it. Then glue the Chablis piece on top at the front, matching point over point, and lastly the black pencil tips will be glued on top of that.
Here you can add your personalization if you would like to add a name. Just be careful not to heat over the glued on felt as it will melt the glue. You can use an iron to press the HTV on otherwise, if you have a wider heat press, add the personalization on first before gluing the other felt on top.
Next, if you are going the sewing machine route, line up your zipper and pin it flat underneath the front side of the bag. Sew along the edge of the bag to secure the first side. Repeat with the second side. You can also choose to use your hot glue gun to adhere the zipper if you do not have a sewing machine :)
Then fold both sides of your bag together, right sides facing out and clip or pin them together to hold them in place.
Finish by sewing around the outside edges (minus the side with the zipper) or glue your bag shut.  We also used a piece of scrap felt to add a fun little zipper pull to our bag!
And there you have it! Your little one's new pencil bag is ready for the first day of school!
