Halloween Pet Bandana Tutorial
Your pets deserve to join in on the Halloween fun, too! This easy, no-sew felt bandana adds just the right touch of spooky-cute style for the season. Made with simple supplies and plenty of room for personal flair, it’s the perfect quick craft for pet lovers and Halloween enthusiasts!
You will need:
One 10x10" square piece of felt (orange, black, purple, or any Halloween print you like!)
Ric Rac Ribbon
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Optional: Add your own decorations! (Mini felt pumpkins, bats, ghosts, or your pet’s name!)
🧵 Step 1: Fold & Crease
Start by folding your 12x12" felt square in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press along the fold to make a crease, then unfold.

🐾 Step 2: Make the Collar Pocket
Flip the felt so the inside is facing up in a diamond shape. Fold both of the middle edges inward about an inch, then fold it again to form a neat pocket—this will be the space for your pet’s collar to slide through. Secure the edges of the folds with hot glue along the sides only, leaving the pocket open across the top.

🎃 Step 3: Glue Together
With your pocket finished, refold your felt back into a triangle. Apply a thin line of hot glue along the edges to seal it, creating your finished bandana shape.

🧡 Step 4: Add the Trim
Glue your ric rac ribbon along the edges on the front side for a fun, textured border!

🎀 Step 5: Decorate!
Finish your bandana with whatever you chose to decorate with! Try adding die cuts, embroidery, or SVGs to make the bandana totally unique to your pet’s personality!

🕸️ Ready to Trick-or-Treat!
Once everything’s dry, slide your pet’s collar through the pocket and let them show off their Halloween spirit. Whether you’re trick-or-treating or snapping pumpkin patch photos, this bandana is sure to earn extra treats!
Craft Tip: Make a few in different colors so your pet can match every holiday season — it’s the perfect way to use up leftover felt scraps!
