You're A Mean One Holiday Felt Doll

It's that time of year again! Let's deck the halls and unleash a little holiday mischief with this next DIY project. Brand new to the shop, our "Mean One" doll die cuts will have you creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake craft to share with your family.
And here is our holiday gift to you, a FREE SVG Download to help you get started! This download includes the face SVG for easy vinyl cutting. You could also use it to trace and then stitch your own face on with embroidery thread! It also comes with the pattern pieces for the base of the Santa jacket and hat.
Grab your hot cocoa and get crafting!
Once you have your doll die cut set, you will need to make just a few adjustments to make the face looking a bit more grinchy :). Trim the top and bottom to turn the ears into cheeks and you'll be all set to stitch!

Once his face shape is cut, you will need to cut the SVG face using black and yellow HTV and iron it on.

If this is the first doll you are making, check out our doll body tutorial for help with assembling the body.
For your Santa hat and jacket, you will need red and white wool blend felt as well as a sheet of red glitter felt.
To assemble your jacket, cut your pieces and add a bit of white to the center of the wider jacket piece and to the ends of the sleeves and hat.

Next, sew your shoulder seams together on both sides.

Then, add in your sleeves on each side. Sew the shoulder seam to the jacket first followed by the underarm seam sewing with the outsides of the jacket facing together (right sides together)

Turn your jacket back right side out. You can choose to add velcro to the opening if you would like the option to take it one and off. And now its time to make your Santa hat!

For the Santa hat, we chose to use hot glue to adhere the sides together. It also helps to add a little bit of doll stuffing into the hat to give it a bit of body.

Once it is ready, it's time to dress your grinchy doll. Put him out with your holiday decor or hours of pretend play with your little ones! It's up to you!
